As a photographer, I'm drawn to busy enter where I'm certain there will be plenty of people and action— like sports events. This photo story showcases the environment of a recent boys' basketball game at my school on Dec. 19, 2023.
While sporting events are fun to photograph, other events are often just as important to document, such as this walkout. In the wake of the Perry High School shooting, students decided to leave class on Jan. 8, 2024, gathering to discuss their own experiences and hopes surrounding gun laws in Iowa.
